McKinley celebrated her 11th birthday with several friends at a Joann Craft store. They have crafty party packages one of which is cake decorating. McKinley thought that was perfect. So the Friday night before her birthday we partied in the classroom at the back of the store. The girls learned cake decorating techniques and then practiced on cookies. They were loud, silly and messy. I was glad we decided to have the party there. I'm not sure how the store staff felt about all those crazy girls in the store. But the girls had lots of fun!
Then we celebrated together as a family at Joe's Crab Shack and then at home. More cake and presents and blowing out candles. She enjoyed receiving phone calls from far away family members. She is my sweet baby girl and I can't believe she's 11!
