Here in PA you can't get your permit until your 16 and your license until your 16 and a half. So right after school on the Tuesday after her birthday we visited the DMV. She passed the written exam with no problem but when it came to the eye exam she had a little trouble. The guy was a grump and she and I got the giggles. He sent us home with a sheet to take to the eye doctor to fill out after she got her eyes checked. I was mad we had to go back again and would have been even madder if it hadn't been a year since her last eye exam. At least it was covered by insurance. And of course, her eyes were fine!
